We know what works
Let us apply our 50 years of experience to the WASH problems you face
About Us
For 50 years, IRC has been using evidence-based research and partnership working to achieve WASH services that last. We know what works: and through IRC Consult we can apply our expertise to your set of challenges.
Who we are
IRC Consult is a fully owned subsidiary of IRC, an international think-and-do tank dedicated to achieving SDG 6: Ensure access to water and sanitation for all. We help others to play their part in achieving SDG6, providing expert advice and evidence-based solutions across a range of settings.
We were created to accelerate progress towards sustainable service delivery.
We work with clients and partners in international development and at national level around the world. We also work with the best independent and affiliated partners and consultants in the sector.

Our track record in consulting
IRC Consult capitalises on IRC’s deep experience of WASH systems strengthening work in our six focus countries (Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Honduras, India and Uganda): work that has generated evidence, experience, knowledge and tools that work.
Since 2014, we have made that expertise available to others, through sector specialists who are at the forefront of the WASH sector in countries including: India, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Niger, Bolivia, South Sudan, the United States of America, and the Netherlands.
There has been strong demand for our services, from training to evaluation to advice.

Our philosophy of action and theory of change
We apply the approaches and philosophies in IRC’s mission-driven work. This is why we know what works (and what doesn’t): knowledge that we can bring to your WASH challenges. We have a deep and comprehensive understanding of the problems and solutions, and in many cases, close relationships with key players who can effect change. We use evidence from our focus countries and districts to advocate for change and share new insights, and we bring global innovations back in to those countries and districts.
